Day 21 in the NICU; Day 1 in the Step-Down Unit

Yes, the title says it all: Noah no longer needs "intensive care." Praise the Lord for His tender mercies! We love Noah's new room- he has his own window and his own area. It is much quieter and calmer than the NICU, so Noah will be able to have better rest. Also, there is a bed next to Noah's crib for Mom to stay overnight if she misses her little boy too much. One last perk is that Noah can have 4 visitors at a time instead of 2, so Noah was able to see Momma, Poppa, Grandma, and Papap all at once for the very first time.

Momma and Poppa were given the privilege of feeding their son for the first time today. Noah continues to improve with his bottle feeding, but has some way to go before he will be ready for breast feeding. Noah also continues to be weaned off his morphine, but also has some way to go before he will be ready to be drug-free. Most importantly, however, is that Noah's lungs heal more and more every day.

So, we feel confident enough now to say that we are starting to see the end of the tunnel of this adventure. We long to bring our son home. Now, we just have to be patient. Our prayer requests are the same as yesterday. Please continue to pray.
Love to you always and praise be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
