Day 14 in the NICU

When we went to visit Noah this morning, a whole machine that had been with him since day 1 had been removed: his Nitric Oxide was completely weened, so no more of that hopefully ever again. His oxygen dependence is down to 43%. They didn't change his ventilator settings at all, so no progress there but no regression either. His lungs continue to look better and better bit by bit.

Momma changed Noah's diaper for the first time today and Papa changed a #2 filled diaper for the first time ever. The staff got little Noah Steelers socks for the big playoff game this Sunday (although we suspect it was really just a gift from one of our favorite nurses Lacey). We honestly cannot praise the staff enough at Children's Hospital. They have been so caring and we can tell that many of our nurses truly love our little one.

As Noah continues to improve, we get to know his personality more and more. He keeps his handsome blue eyes open longer and longer. We knew from day one that he is stubborn like his mommy, but we are now learning that if we rub his little head, he calms down almost immediately.

So, here are our prayer requests for the night:

1. Praise God for all the little victories Noah has had in his progression
2. Pray that Noah's lungs would continue to heal
3. Pray that Noah would be able to be weened off his ventilator
4. Papa is going back to work tomorrow, so pray that he could do a good job and pray that Momma would be able to handle this change
5. Pray that we would continue to be patient and trust the Lord's timing in everything

We continue to praise our Savior for the body of Christ and for all our friends and family.
