The Steelers are in the Super Bowl! This has happened only once since I was born, so the atmosphere in the apartment (and at the Greer's) is a bit like Christmas. Mommy and Daddy Greer are coming here to watch the Super Bowl with us. (We can't take the time off to go over there, in case you're wondering.) It's going to be Super great.
At this time, then, I'd like to share with you a video that was filmed right after the AFC championship last Sunday, January 22nd. This video makes my heart glad and it greatly increases my respect for Coach Bill Cowher (pic below). Instead of letting his team go bonkers over their win, he does two things. First, he calls them to pray. He doesn't pray generically. He prays in the name of Jesus Christ. That's great. He prays that they could be gracious winners and thanks God for the team's protection during the game. Second, he humbles them. He makes them remember that they have one more game to go before they are crowned world champions. Those are two qualities that no coach should be without, and which Bill Cowher has in spades.
How could you not be a great coach, though, when you routinely look like this:
