Dear All,
This is actually from Lauren...my husband, brother, and Ben Crum (!) posted the stuff earlier. Noah's conditions continues to be critical but is still stable. I am going to go visit him today for only the 3rd time. I am feeling much better than yesterday from my c-section and will be released from the hospital tomorrow (Monday) morning.
Reading all your comments has really meant the world to me- thank you all for your concern and care. Linda Hess- thank you for the explanation of all the tubes, that gives me great comfort.
Just to answer some of your questions- Noah was born on December 26th at 8:37AM. He was born 9 lbs. 6 oz. and 22 & 1/8 inches long. Yes, Barbara- my doctor said my placenta was enormous, haha, so that is one reason he looks so good.
My labor was crazy- not normal/textbook stuff at all. I woke up at 3:30 AM not feeling well with an upset tummy. By 5:30 I went from having possibly light contractions (still wasn't sure if I was having contractions or if it was just an upset tummy from too much food on Christmas) to having painful, horrible contractions minutes apart. We timed them for about 20 minutes and then I decided that this was too much to handle and went straight to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, they set me up at one station right away- my contractions were only a minute apart at that point. Then they lost Noah's heart beat because he was in shock from my crazy contractions. So they took me to the OR immediately to have an emergency C-section. Noah's heart began to beat again before they put me down, so they decided to continue with the C-section, but just give me a standard epidural. Within 30 minutes our son was born, kicking all the way out. The doctor said that she couldn't cut the umbilical cord at first b/c he was kicking so hard (he did that in the womb, too!). We heard his little cry and then all the sudden they said he needed to go to the ICU because of what you all know about- his aspiration of meconium.
So, I hope this answers more of your questions. Please keep the prayers coming. We love you all and will continue to update you on Noah's condition.
Love in Christ Jesus,
Lauren
