Day 1 and 2 at Children's Home of Pittsburgh

(brandon writing) Noah has had a very good first two days at the Children's Home of Pittsburgh. In case you didn't read the last note, The Children's Home is a transitional care facility for infants like Noah that have had a rough go of it at the beginning of life but no longer need the intensity of a hospital stay. This new place is quite amazing. It's much more like a hotel than a medical facility. Noah's space is huge, very clean, and very quiet. Mom and Dad were able to both stay there last night in a room with a nice bed and a clean shower and bathroom to use. We're very excited to see that Noah is in this new place because he's at the final step before coming home and we think Noah will do very well with the care he'll get there.

Noah has been doing very well. His oxygen levels haven't gone down, he's been continually weaned off morphine without complications (he's down to .03 mg/3 hrs now), and, for the first time, he took all his milk through the bottle this morning. These are all great steps. Noah continues to need your prayers for a smooth transition to a life without morphine, continued success on feeding, and continued stability with his oxygen levels. You might also pray that Noah could make the transition to breastfeeding well. The nurse told us that we can breastfeed now, which is great news to hear.

However, Momma Bear needs prayer tonight! She wasn't feeling that great last night, and today at 12:30 PM when she called me she was one sick cookie: chills, body pain, and a fever. I left work early to be with her. When I got there, her fever was 101.7 degrees, so we decided to go home. Her mom and dad visited Noah this evening, and her Dad decided he wanted to spend more time with Noah tonight. So, I'm taking care of Momma and Papap is looking after Noah. So, please pray for Momma that she can soon feel better and go see Noah again.

We thank everyone for their prayers and can't wait to have Noah home!
